Quadrant Software, which has the largest installed base of any fax server vendor tailored for the IBM i platform, also now has the only FoIP solution that is native to the IBM i platform since it just introduced the QuadraDocV. Quadrant, which is an IBM Advanced Business Partner, offers in the QuadraDocV a robust set of tools that enable snap-in integration with ERP solutions for the IBM i. Quadrant's patented IP fax server solution supports the standard T.38 FoIP protocol and enables users to take advantage of their existing VoIP infrastructure.
In late 2010, Quadrant Software, a leading provider of Electronic Document Distribution (EDD) solutions for the IBM System i (iSeries) and Microsoft Windows enterprise platforms, was acquired by Candescent Partners . Candescent Partners invests in the buyout, growth, and recapitalization of companies with annual revenue of $10 to $50 million dollars.
Quadrant Software has for decades marketed the FastFax fax server. Quadrant Software's FastFax delivers the ability to send, receive, route, and manage mission-critical documents from within familiar business applications and/or email clients. Both user-friendly and secure, it provides centralized systems management to maximize IT support time while improving user productivity.
The new FoIP server enables customers to take advantage of, and extend with fax, their existing VoIP infrastructure. The server, runs on the industry standard VMware platform, can use virtualization to eliminate need for a dedicated physical server, reducing the server's carbon footprint. The QuadraDocV leverages industry-standard Dialogic SR140 technology and easily scales from one to hundreds of fax ports as customer requirements increase. The new FoIP software runs inside a VMware virtual machine and offers the same fax capabilities that Quadrant has delivered for years with its hardware-based FastFax line. QuadraDocV runs only on VMware today, but Quadrant's plans in the future to support Microsoft HyperV and the open-source hypervisor from Xen.
Quadrant's FastFax line of products, which are computers loaded with Dialogic fax cards and Quadrant's software for integrating with popular IBM i applications, such as MAPICS, Oracle's JD Edwards, VAI's S2K, and JDA Software's MMS. In the past year or so, Quadrant has been moving from direct sales to sales through resellers and the move has been positive on its overall sales. Now, with QuadraDocV, Quadrant offers the same set of capabilities that it had with FastFax – including email and ERP integration and the ability to combine FastFax with Quadrant Software's flagship Formtastic solution to design, create, and deliver polished digital business documents and eliminate pre-printed forms – while eliminating the need for fax cards and fax phone lines.
FoIP saves customers money and boosts the productivity of their fax environment. Money is saved by eliminating the need for leasing phones lines and by using server virtualization, which can cut costs by 40%. Reliability is improved by eliminating fax boards and by enabling the replication and re-creation of virtual environments.
