With v8.3, Imecom has enable companies that migrate from Exchange 2007/2003 to Exchange 2010 to also upgrade their fax server capabilities by adding support for Microsoft Exchange 2010 to its SMTP/Exchange Email Fax Connector. This connector enables customers to integrate the faxing features of DM Fax Server into their Exchange 2010 environments. End users can send, receive, and manage electronic faxes using Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web Access and leverage Outlook Contacts to store and manage fax address books.
DM Fax Server v8.30 offers virtual fax server solutions with expanded support for VMware ESX and ESXi platforms, as well as Microsoft hyper-V platforms. This gives businesses the ability to completely virtualize their fax server systems. Imecom’s Virtual DM Fax Servers leverage the Dialogic Brooktrout SR140 virtual mode fax board software for FoIP. The DM Fax Server and Brooktrout SR140 consolidate fax server resources into IP-PBX and VoIP networks from companies like Cisco, Avaya, ShoreTel, Mitel, Nortel, Dialogic, and AudioCodes.
Imecom says that deploying fax over IP offers numerous benefits – increased productivity, tangible cost savings, and fax server virtualization. With DM Fax Server v8.30, businesses, even if they don’t presently run VoIP, can still take advantage of FoIP and fax server virtualization by deploying a boardless FoIP solution in conjunction with a VoIP media gateway.
The Imecom FoIP server includes the Dialogic Brooktrout SR140 virtual fax board software which supports T.38, SIP, and H.323 protocols natively. In order for FoIP to function successfully, the Brooktrout SR140 boardless software needs to communicate with an IP-PBX or VoIP Gateway that also supports T.38 and SIP or H.323. SIP trunking services that support T.38 may also be used. The Imecom FoIP server is compatible with many popular IP-PBX, VoIP Gateway, and SIP trunking services.
