For more than 27 years Davidson Consulting has been a pioneering fax technology evangelist by providing industry leading market research spanning fax machines, fax servers, fax services and fax boards. Currently run by by Peter Davidson and Deborah Peckham, it is known to be the number one fax consultancy in the world. Each year, Davidson Consulting publishes three annual reports; computer-based fax, internet based fax services, and fax over IP (FoIP) markets.

Davidson started out ghost-writing communications-related market research reports for International Resource Development (IRD), Yankee Group and International Data Corporation (IDC). He also worked for Buyers Laboratory where he was editor of FAXreporter, a monthly newsletter on fax machines. Davidson also wrote two books for Buyers Laboratory: "Hidden Fax Costs and the Secrets to Savings" and "MFPs Demystified." He also contributed articles to IRD's EMMS newsletter (Electronic Mail & Messaging Systems) and Davidson also had articles published in Office Systems, Network World and the New York Times.
